10 POINT COVID SAFE PLAN
Updated 22 SEPTEMBER 2021 Steve MANNING
Being COVID Safe is a shared responsibility. We want you to enjoy the race and stay safe. Please ensure you follow our COVID Safe practices listed below when attending this year’s Twilight Bay Run.
1. STAY AT HOME IF YOU ARE UNWELL
Public health authorities advise all people to stay at home if they are unwell or display any symptoms of COVID-19 infection.
Please seek medical advice and testing for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:
- fever
- cough
- sore throat
- shortness of breath
- fatigue
2. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Maintaining 1.5M physical distance is everyone’s responsibility.
Please remember to keep your distance from others before and after participating in the Twilight Bay Run. This includes while warming up, on the start line and in the recovery area after finishing.
3. WEAR A MASK
Please wear a face mask in the race precinct and while spectating. Competitors will NOT be required to wear a face mask when they are on the race course completing the race. The ‘race course’ starts at the start chute, and concludes at the finish chute.
4. DO NOT ATTEND IF ON RACE DAY
- You have tested positive for COVID-19
- You have been in close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19
- You are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test
- You have travelled overseas or to a declared COVID-19 Hotspot in the
previous 14 days.
5. SANITISE
Practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds using soap and water and make use of hand sanitiser. Hand sanitiser stations will be located throughout the Event.
6. CHECK IN
Your bib will check you in at the race. Any supporters who aren’t participating in the event should use one of the check-in codes at various locations within the Race Precinct in George Clayton Park. Please download and set up the Government’s official COVIDSafe app. https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app
7. IF YOU FEEL UNWELL AT THE EVENT
Please seek immediate assistance from the nearest Marshal,
Event staff member or First Aid person.
All these staff will be easily identifiable, in Fluoro Vests and will provide appropriate assistance and direct you to the medical team
8. WATER BOTTLES
Bring your own water bottle to use before your event.
Disposable water cups will be available at aid stations throughout the course. Water and electrolyte stations will be self serve only so you must take the cup from the table as they will not be handed out. Each entrant will be given their own water bottle in the recovery area.
9. TAKE NOTICE OF COVID MESSAGING
Prior to the Event, COVIDsafe messages will be shared by event newsletters and social media.
On Event day, public address systems will be used in the start zones, the recovery area and along the course to communicate information around COVIDsafe practices. Please read and listen to the messaging and follow directions to keep everyone COVIDsafe.
10. ADDITIONAL MEASURES
Staff, volunteers and marshals will be following CovidSafe practices such as wearing PPE gloves and masks when required in high touch areas like water stations, baggage tent and registration. We have a cleaner dedicated to maintaining the toilet sanitation and other event staff in charge of maintaining our sanitation stations. Surfaces will be cleaned regularly throughout the event, Anyone displaying symptoms of illness will be asked to leave.
Please help us keep everyone safe by following the COVID Safe measures and rules above – we can’t do it without you! We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to an amazing (and safe) Twilight Bay Run
